What is Botox?

Botox is an injectable cosmetic known as a neuromodulator. It relaxes key facial muscles to soften lines and wrinkles. Botox also deters the muscle movements that create wrinkles, which stops new lines and wrinkles from appearing.

Where can you inject Botox?

There are three main areas for Botox treatment, including:

  • Glabellar lines: the lines between your eyebrows
  • Lateral canthal lines: the “crow’s feet” around your eyes
  • Horizontal lines: the long lines across your forehead

Depending on your particular needs, you could potentially get Botox in other areas as well.

How long until Botox starts working?

You may see results from your Botox treatment in as little as 24-48 hours. Usually, you notice a steady improvement until you see full results about 7-10 days after treatment.

How long will Botox last?

Botox results last up to four months. To keep your face looking smooth and young, schedule your Botox follow-ups about every three months or as directed by Dr. Sirven.

What is Plasma Pen fibroblast treatment?

The Plasma Pen fibroblast treatment, also called plasma therapy, is one of the newest cosmetic procedures to combat wrinkles, loss of collagen, and sagging skin. With age, the dermal layer of the skin thins and produces less collagen. This can produce sagging and wrinkling of the skin.

The process of plasma therapy heats and disrupts the cells in the deeper layers of your skin to produce new collagen. The treatment is termed “fibroblasting” after fibroblasts, which are the cells in your skin that are responsible for producing collagen.

What can plasma treatments address?

Plasma therapy sessions can tighten, lift, resurface, and regenerate practically any area of the skin. In these sessions, the plasma can improve the appearance of numerous issues at once, reducing recovery time.

Some of the skin conditions plasma treatments can address include:

  • Stretch marks
  • Vertical lip lines
  • Acne scarring
  • Smile lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Forehead lines

What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is a collection of dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid. These fillers are ideal for age-related volume depletion, and they can also enhance the contour and skin firmness in areas where you’re just not happy with your appearance. Some of the most popular uses for Juvéderm are:

  • Nasolabial lines: deep grooves around your nose and mouth
  • Marionette lines: lines from your lip borders to your chin
  • Lips: fine lines, thinning, and general lack of volume

Juvéderm is a good choice for the deeper lines that occur in the middle and lower face, which are generally related to volume loss instead of muscle movement. Botox is the ideal treatment for upper face wrinkles related to muscle movement. Each kind of injectable has its place, and Botox and Juvéderm work together well.

How long does Juvéderm last?

Every Juvéderm formula has a different period of effectiveness, ranging from 12-24 months. The length of effectiveness can also vary by placement area and your personal body chemistry. Juvéderm wears away naturally, and you eventually return to your original appearance unless you schedule follow-up treatments.

Sirven & Associates Allergy and Asthma Center also offers facial rejuvenation treatment with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which uses the healing properties in your own blood to encourage younger-looking skin.

Botox, Juvéderm, and plasma treatments can help you capture the look you want without requiring any recovery time. Call Sirven & Associates Allergy and Asthma Center or book your consultation online to learn more now.
